Hey Mum to Be, how's this special time going? Some of us sail through our pregnancies enjoying every little change and flutter. Some of us are well and truly over it by the halfway point. Most of us probably fall somewhere in between.
No matter your pregnancy experience, a maternity photo session is always a special thing to do before your little bundle arrives. After they're born it can be hard to imagine them ever fitting inside your belly- being able to look back at some gorgeous photos of this time is extra special.
I do provide a range of gowns in different colours and sizes along with matching floral and metal crowns and I can often order something special in for your session if you'd like. I can also offer wardrobe advice and tips for the rest of the family to help you coordinate your outfits. I can also organise a hair and make-up artist to help you look and feel like a goddess.
Sessions are available at various outdoor locations.
I recommend photographing these at between 30-34 weeks when you have a nice round belly but you're still feeling pretty comfortable and have some energy for the session. If you're expecting multiples or have any complications that could mean your little one will arrive early we can do the session sooner.
After your session you'll be invited to view an online "proofing gallery" of unedited photos from your session and choose which ones you'd like to receive as fully-edited, high resolution digital downloads. You can also purchase additional digital images or collections featuring digital images and artwork at this time. Once your photos are ready you'll be given access to a gallery of your final images and access to make artwork purchases through the online store. Your final gallery will be online for a year and you can download your images as often as you like during this time.

Outdooor Session
Choice of multiple outdoor locations all over Perth.
You can let me know if there's a certain "vibe" you're after and I can recommend a good place or two or you can let me know if there's a specific spot you'd like to use.
You can choose up to four gowns and I'll bring them along to the session along with some matching crowns and a pop-up change tent so you can get dressed in privacy.
These are usually photographed in the late afternoon/early evening to get the best light and the session will last for up to 90 minutes.
Your partner and children are encouraged to attend and be photographed with you.

When is the best time for maternity photos?
I usually recommend having your session somewhere between 30 and 34 weeks. At this stage you usually have a lovely, round bump for the photos but hopefully you're still feeling pretty comfortable and mobile. If you're planning an outdoor session during the rainy months of the year it's usually best to try and book in closer to 30 weeks so there's plenty of time to re-schedule for wet/windy weather. If you're expecting multiples or have risk factors in your pregnancy you may like to do the session a little earlier so you don't miss out if your baby (or babies) arrives early.
When should I book in my maternity session?
I'd recommend booking in the session early on in your second trimester to ensure I have availability. I book sessions up to six months in advance. I do take fewer outdoor session bookings in winter- this gives us more space to move the session around if needed for rainy weather.
What if my baby comes before the session?
If your little one makes their entrance a little earlier than expected you are welcome to apply your session deposit to a newborn session or a milestone or family session during your baby's first year.
There's a particular look I'm going for/type of gown I'd like to wear, but it's not available in the client closet- is there anything I can do?
Yes, certainly. If you give me some details about what you're looking for I can help you find it. I'm in contact with lots of photographers and dress vendors from all over the world so chances are we can find something that you'll love. If it's something I'd like to keep in my client closet I may even be able to purchase the dress for the studio- let me know if you'd like some more details.
There's a gown I love but it's not the right size- are you able to get it in another size?
In most cases, yes. Most of the gowns are hand-made and the vendors are usually able to make them in different sizes. If there's a particular gown we can't find in your size I'll do my best to source something similar from another dressmaker. Most of the gowns in the client closet can be clipped back for more petite mums, too.
Is there a discount if you also photograph my newborn session?
Yes, absolutely. More information coming to the website soon- please contact me in the meantime for more details.
What should my partner and other children wear?
Before your session I'll send a wardrobe guide to help you prepare. You're welcome to borrow a gown from the client closet and I can also help if you want to run some different options past me. I can sometimes even source a new dress for you to wear at the session.
